The ReadID Me application (formerly known as NFC Passport Reader) is designed to read and verify NFC chips embedded in electronic passports, national identity cards, and other ICAO-compliant travel documents, such as ePassports and MRTDs (Machine Readable Travel Documents). The application employs optical scanning (OCR) to extract data from the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ), facilitating access to the embedded chip. Subsequently, it utilizes NFC technology to read the chip's contents, displaying both biographical and biometric information of the documentholder, along with document details. The app performs comprehensive security checks—including Active Authentication, Chip Authentication, and Passive Authentication—and provides detailed results for each verification process.

Additionally, the application supports electronic driving licenses (eDLs) based on ISO 18013 standards, currently limited to Dutch driving licenses issued after November 2014.
